September 20, 2010 - Mechanicsburg, PA

This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB) and their
celebration of the milestone will prove to be one of the most historic events ever offered.

On Thursday, October 14, 2010, PAB will kick-off the festivities at 5:00pm with a Silent Auction Cocktail
Reception at the Crowne Plaza in Harrisburg. Wine baskets, art, trips, jewelry, iPads and more will be
auctioned to the highest bidder, with all proceeds benefiting programs for Pennsylvanians who are blind
or visually impaired.

An “Around the World” Dinner will be served at 6:30pm where guests will have the opportunity to taste
foods from Ireland, Italy, China, and the United States.

Following dinner, guests will walk to the Whitaker Center where they will see the featured performance
for the Gala, American Idol Top Ten Finalist, Scott MacIntyre. As the first visually impaired finalist
on American Idol, Scott was called, “An inspiration to the entire world through his commitment and
through his talent.” Doors open at 7:30pm and the Concert will begin at 8:30pm.

Tickets to attend the Gala and Concert can be purchased by calling PAB at 717-766-2020, or if you would
like to just attend the Concert, tickets can be purchased by calling the Whitaker Center Box Office at
717-214-ARTS.

For 100 years, PAB and its network of 29 Member Agencies have been dedicated to helping
Pennsylvanians prevent, prepare for and manage vision loss. The Gala event will pay tribute to
the many people and events that shaped what the organization has become over the decades.
