2024 Fall Conference

Please join us Wednesday, November 13 through Friday, November 15 at The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center (State College, PA) for the 2024 PAB Fall Conference. This year’s conference will include programming for agency executives, field workers, and prevention specialists.

Wednesday, November 13th

• The Registration desk will open at 10 a.m. (Please note that hotel rooms will not be available until 4 p.m.)
• Lunch is provided and sessions will start in that room immediately after.
• The highlight of the afternoon will be a discussion with state and regional representatives of the Bureau of Blindness & Visual Services.
• A presentation regarding pediatric eye problems will be provided for our vision screening staff.
• Dinner is on your own.

Thursday, November 2nd

• Breakfast is included for overnight guests.
• We anticipate these topics related to Training and Support Services (TSS) and Preschool Vision Screening and Eye Safety (PSE): clients with multiple disabilities; low vision; staff networking; Truffles the Kitty; working with children, and PAB’s eye safety education programs. We will also have an opportunity to learn about the Pathfinder, by ForSight Assist, which is a new navigation device.
• Lunch and Dinner are provided.
• Following Dinner we’re looking forward to another fun night of games including a cornhole competition.

Friday, November 3rd 

• Breakfast is included for overnight guests
• We’ll have presentations related to vision terminology and low vision in adults.
• The conference will end before lunch (which will be on your own).
• For our overnight guests, the hotel check out time is 11 a.m.

Location

The Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center is located at 215 Innovation Boulevard in State College. It includes two restaurants, a fitness center, and a lap pool.

Rooms start at $139 (including 1 breakfast voucher) and increase by $10 for each additional guest to accommodate their breakfast voucher. Please call Central Reservations at 1-814-863-5000 and reference group code PABLA24. You may also reserve your rooms at https://thepennstaterhotel.com/. This rate expires at midnight on October 12th, so please make sure you reserve your rooms by then!

After selecting the number of each type of ticket, you’ll see the options for registering each person. If you need a gluten free meal, select it at this time.

PAB agencies must enter the coupon code provided to them in order to receive the member agency rate.

PAB agencies may pay online via credit card or select the “Agency Check” option which will allow you to send PAB a check as payment. Other guests should pay by credit card.

After registering, attendees will receive an auto reply from the website (which might go to your spam folder). There will also be system-generated emails during the processing. PAB will follow-up in a few days with its own email confirming your registration(s).
